The Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway offers charming scenic excursions through the wooded Ozark hills surrounding one of Arkansas’s most unique Victorian resort towns. The 1906 steam locomotive hauls passengers on a four-mile round trip through the forest, crossing trestles and offering views of the surrounding Ozark Mountains. Eureka Springs itself is a National Historic District perched on the side of a mountain, and the railroad depot is a hub of activity in this artists’ colony and tourist destination. The ES&NA also operates popular dinner trains in vintage dining cars, and the combination of the historic town and the scenic railroad makes for one of the most distinctive day trips in the Ozarks.
