The West Coast Railway Heritage Park in Squamish, British Columbia, is the largest railway museum in western Canada and home to one of the most significant collections of historic railway equipment in the country. Operated by the West Coast Railway Association, the park features over 90 historic railway vehicles — including steam locomotives, diesel engines, passenger cars, cabooses, freight cars, and work equipment — spread across a beautifully maintained outdoor site with covered display facilities. Among the most prized exhibits is Royal Hudson No. 2860, the famed streamlined steam locomotive that once hauled passenger trains between Vancouver and Squamish for BC Rail. The park also features a restored and furnished business car, a restored 1890s station, and a miniature steam railway that carries visitors around part of the grounds. Interactive displays bring railway history to life for visitors of all ages, and costumed guides share stories of BC’s rich railway heritage. Located in the spectacular Sea-to-Sky Corridor between Vancouver and Whistler, the Heritage Park offers stunning mountain scenery to complement its remarkable collection of rolling stock. A must-visit destination for any railway enthusiast or history lover visiting British Columbia.
