Northwest Railway Museum

The Northwest Railway Museum, headquartered in the historic 1890 Snoqualmie Depot, is Washington State’s premier destination for experiencing the “Age of Steam” and the transformative power of the rail. Operating on a 5.5-mile segment of the original Seattle, Lake Shore and Eastern Railway, this heritage line offers a sophisticated 2-hour round-trip excursion through the breathtaking Snoqualmie Valley. The journey features a dramatic pause at the crest of Snoqualmie Falls, providing passengers with a world-class view of the 268-foot cataract from a vantage point inaccessible by car. A centerpiece of the experience is a stop at the Railway History Campus, where riders can explore the 25,000-square-foot Train Shed Exhibit Hall, which houses a massive collection of restored locomotives, including the elegant Northern Pacific Steam Locomotive 924.
