The Middletown & Hummelstown Railroad, famously known as the “Milk & Honey Line,” is a charming short-line heritage excursion railroad operating through the Pennsylvania Dutch Country near Hershey, the Chocolate Capital of the World, carrying passengers on a 10-mile round-trip journey through the rolling farmland and woodlands of Dauphin County along the original M&H right-of-way. The railroad follows the Swatara Creek Valley between the historic borough of Middletown and the village of Hummelstown, passing through peaceful pastoral landscapes and offering a relaxed and authentic steam and diesel-powered railroad excursion that perfectly complements the many family attractions of the Hershey and Harrisburg region. Vintage diesel and steam locomotives pull open excursion cars and enclosed coaches through scenery reminiscent of rural Pennsylvania a century ago. The railroad is especially convenient to visitors to Hersheypark, the Pennsylvania State Museum, and other Harrisburg-area attractions. Special excursions include the Polar Express holiday train, mystery trains, and seasonal themed events. The M&H is one of the oldest continuously operating tourist railroads in Pennsylvania and has been providing authentic railroad experiences to visitors for over 50 years.
