The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is a beloved 30-acre family destination in the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona, operating 363 days a year. At its center is the Paradise & Pacific Railroad, a 15-inch gauge live steam line featuring nearly 4,000 feet of mainline track with trestles, a tunnel, a turntable, and a water tank — carrying over 300,000 passengers annually on a winding scenic loop through beautifully landscaped grounds. The park traces its origins to the early 1950s, when Guy Stillman established the line on his family’s estate before donating it to the City of Scottsdale in 1969. Alongside the train ride is a restored 1950 Allan Herschell carousel, the Scottsdale Railroad Museum with historic full-size equipment including a Pullman car that once carried four U.S. presidents, a 10,000-square-foot Model Railroad Building, and railroad-themed playgrounds. Train and carousel rides are just $3.00 per person; admission to the park and museums is free.
