Lumberjack Steam Train

The Lumberjack Steam Train in Laona, Wisconsin, carries passengers on an authentic steam-powered journey back to the early 20th century logging era of Wisconsin’s northwoods, offering a uniquely immersive experience at the heart of the Camp Five Museum Complex — one of the finest living history logging museums in the American Midwest. The 2.5-mile round-trip excursion aboard a vintage logging railroad steam locomotive departs from the Camp Five station and winds through the dense northern Wisconsin forest to Camp Five, an authentically recreated turn-of-the-century logging camp featuring blacksmith shop demonstrations, a nature center, petting zoo, and canoe rides on the Rat River. The steam locomotive and wooden logging cars are authentic equipment from the logging railroad era, providing a genuine connection to the industry that shaped this region.
