Welcome aboard the Kettle Valley Steam Railway, a beloved heritage railway nestled in the heart of Summerland, British Columbia. Operating on the only surviving stretch of the historic Kettle Valley Railway — originally built between 1910 and 1916 — the KVSR offers a breathtaking 90-minute round-trip journey through the scenic Prairie Valley. Passengers ride in lovingly restored vintage coaches or open-air cars pulled by the iconic 1912-built Canadian Pacific steam locomotive No. 3716. The journey winds through lush orchards, rolling vineyards, and over the magnificent Trout Creek Trestle Bridge, standing 238 feet above the canyon floor with panoramic views of Okanagan Lake. Throughout the season, the railway hosts a variety of beloved events, including the famous Great Train Robbery, fall excursions, and the magical Christmas Express. With over 500,000 guests since its 1995 opening, the KVSR is a premier heritage travel experience in the Okanagan Valley and one of Canada’s finest steam railways. Fully accessible, including a wheelchair lift, the railway invites all visitors to step back in time and experience the romance of steam-powered travel.
