Kentucky Railway Museum

The Kentucky Railway Museum is a beloved heritage railroad and living museum located in the rolling limestone country of central Kentucky, operating excursion trains through the scenic Green River Valley on historic Louisville & Nashville Railroad trackage dating from the 1850s. The museum’s showcase attraction is its New Haven locomotive, a magnificent 4-6-2 Pacific steam engine that hauls vintage passenger coaches on round-trip excursions of up to 22 miles through picturesque Kentucky farmland. The museum campus includes an outstanding collection of restored steam locomotives, diesel power, passenger cars, and freight equipment displayed in a beautifully landscaped setting. The restored 1889 Louisville & Nashville depot serves as the museum’s visitor center and houses interpretive exhibits on Kentucky’s rich railroad history and its role in American industrial development.
