Kauai Plantation Railway

The Kauaʻi Plantation Railway stands as one of Hawaiʻi’s most authentic heritage railroads, created to preserve and interpret the island’s once‑vast plantation rail network that began in 1881 and eventually stretched more than 200 miles across Kauaʻi. Its daily excursions—offered year‑round—carry visitors through the 105‑acre Kilohana Plantation aboard vintage 1940s‑era diesel locomotives and open‑air cars that echo the look and rhythm of historic sugarcane trains.
