Ontario’s first and largest electric railway museum, the Halton County Radial Railway (HCRR) is a unique and fascinating destination tucked into the scenic forests of Halton County near Milton, Ontario. Home to the largest collection of traction equipment in Canada, the museum operates a full-size historic electric streetcar over two kilometres of track winding through the beautiful wooded property — a truly memorable experience that brings the golden age of electric transit vividly to life. The collection spans over a century of urban and interurban transit history, with more than 60 vehicles including streetcars, interurban cars, work equipment, and buses from cities across Canada and beyond. Many of the vehicles have been painstakingly restored by dedicated volunteer members of the Halton County Radial Railway. Visitors can ride operating vintage streetcars, explore the display barns, and learn about the electric railways that once connected Ontario’s towns and cities before the automobile age. The museum operates on weekends and holidays from Victoria Day through Thanksgiving, with special events throughout the season. An essential visit for anyone interested in the history of public transportation and electric railways in Canada.
