The Georgia Coastal Railway operates themed excursion trains over the St. Marys Railroad, one of America’s oldest privately owned shortline railroads, departing from the historic Kingsland Station just two miles west of I-95 in coastal Georgia. The 80-minute round-trip journey travels through local neighborhoods, past Georgia marshlands, and ends at a working rail yard in St. Marys before returning — all aboard open-air coaches or climate-controlled heritage cars including the famous California Zephyr streamliner cars. Year-round themed excursions include the Pizza Express, Shipwreckers Pirate Train, Wild West, Murder Mystery, Halloween Train, and the popular Santa Special. The Florida-Georgia Railway Heritage Museum, housed in the 1915 Kingsland Station building, provides railroad exhibits and an HO-scale model railroad display. Excursions operate primarily on Saturdays throughout the year.
